2025 - 2026 Campus Upgrades

We’re upgrading the primary and preschool playgrounds to make them more enjoyable and experiential for the children.

Playground Upgrades

Our playgrounds are undergoing a major facelift featuring a new layout, landscaping and design that priorities nature, free form and discovery while keeping the elements that the children told us they love.

The design will use natural materials like stone and wood as much as possible plus increased planting to create beautiful green spaces for the children as well as our native visitors such as the birds and possums.

Timeline & Funding

Timeline

It’s a big project! Construction began in December 2025 and campus improvements will continue through 2026. We anticipate that both the preschool and primary playgrounds will be completed by the end of Term 1, 2026.

Construction will move from the rear of the school and then into the Cycle 1 preschool playground and front access areas.

Funding

The project will be funded by the following;

  • Majority from school reserve funds
  • Generous donations from Montessori families
  • Government grant of $25,000 for the primary all purpose court

If you'd like to contribute to this project, your donation will help a lot. You can buy a log or a sandstone block or even a cubby house and have your family name engraved in it. If interested, please contact rob.yeldon@montessori.nsw.edu.au

Will this impact the use of the playgrounds?

It is likely that we will need to put some plans in place to accommodate the construction in Term 1, 2026.  We will ensure that safety is uppermost at all times, and make alternative arrangements as required. We will update you on the schedule of work and any impact as we go.

What else is planned for campus improvements?

We have plans to upgrade the school campus to make it more beautiful, accessible, safe and enjoyable for years to come. Following is a list of some of the projects we'd like to be able to fund over the next 2 years;

Preschool kitchen island - The central kitchen island on the Cycle 1 verandah will be replaced during the summer holidays 2025. This unit is used for cooking, craft activities and washing. It will improve accessibility and functionality for the children and teachers.

Front of school and entrance

  • Entrance gate and fencing upgrades for better security

  • Installation of security cameras at the front of the school

  • Shelter area around Cycle 1 classrooms for weather protection

  • Improvements to the front courtyard as a gathering place

Student facilities

  • Classroom furniture and accessories as needed
  • Bathroom upgrades
  • Carpet / flooring updates as needed
